Paul lists three things that we are to avoid: 1. Sexual immorality, 2. Covetousness, 3. Foolish Talk. Some say, "Oh brother! Seriously?" Yes, the gospel affects everything about us, including our speech and the way we spend our money. Do you live right up to the edge of your means? Do you know that that's being covetous? How can you be generous that way? Are you greedy on the inside but playing it cool on the outside? Similarly, are your words fruit of healing or of poison? Do you know the cutting power of your words? Let's see how the gospel gives us the power to see freedom in these areas of our lives through the finished work of Christ.
